Church Ministries
We offer religious education for people of all ages. It's a place for learning about the Bible, Christian beliefs, and values that focus on building faith and community.
One of our Christian sacraments that symbolizes a person is joined with the universal church, the body of Christ. In baptism, God works in us the power of forgiveness, the renewal of the spirit, and the knowledge of the call to be God’s people always.
We participate the first Sunday of each month (and special occasions) in the sacrament of Holy Communion, also called the Lord’s Supper or Eucharist, meaning “thanksgiving,” Christians hear, taste, touch and receive the grace of God revealed through Jesus Christ in a unique way.
The Music Team and Choir enhances the worship experience with meaningful music. This group really enjoys singing and praising God with music! New choir members are always welcome.
A dedicated group of women in the church organized to promote fellowship, service, and spiritual growth within the church community and actively engage in fundraising, charitable work, and social activities, contributing to the church and its members.
A faithful group of men provide a space for fellowship, spiritual growth, and accountability within a Christian context. This group aims to strengthen men in their faith, family relationships, and roles as leaders in the church and community.
Our devoted team demonstrates our Christian spirit of caregiving by ensuring that any member of our church family who is in need, receives appropriate and compassionate support, visits, and encouragement and embraces our members who are homebound, in care centers or otherwise unable to attend service by phone calls, cards, prayers and visitation. They work closely with the pastor.
Our Zoom team facilitates the weekly online worship experience which allows church members to connect with the congregations remotely.
The dedicated technical team supports the church's worship services and other events by managing the technical aspects of audio and video. They enhance the worship experience and ensure there is clear communication of the message.

Servants at Work build freedom and independence through accessibility ramps. Guided by faith and serving by compassion, they team with businesses, a variety of churches, and service organizations to create access beyond the front door.
Congregations Acting for Justice Empowerment is an interfaith ministry of churches in the community who stand together for social justice. Since 2003, CAJE has identified injustices and tackled community problems in Vanderburgh, Posey, and Warrick counties. With evidence-based solutions, they hope to bring permanent change in the community for all people.
Each month a group of dedicated members prepare and serve a meal at the shelter and give financially to support the mission of UCS in helping to create a community where everyone has access to shelter, essential resources, and pathways to stability.
An opportunity to join with our sister UCC churches in providing a free lunch, in a welcoming atmosphere, for the Evansville Community every other Saturday.
In their learning trailer in the Grandin Pointe Mobile Home Park, volunteers from four churches help with homework and serve as mentors. Every Christmas the group of churches adopt families in the program to provide holiday gifts. The program partners with the YMCA’s outreach ministry.
Books and Cooks came out of St. Peter’s vision process and is an interfaith women’s book club for those who love to read. The club provides fellowship, friendship, spiritual support, and vibrant discussions. The club was started in 2012.
A new outreach ministry for St. Peter’s in our immediate church neighborhood. The team works closely with the school principal and nurse to provide for the needs of the school children and support for the staff. This ministry was created in 2024 from one of our search process workshops.
Providing school supplies for Kids Kits allows us the opportunity to be part of a powerful mission. Each kit prepared will be a tangible expression of God’s love and care to those in need.
Annually support the greater good of our church and community with financially supporting the following:

- The Strengthen the Church (STC) Offering - funds raised support leadership development, new churches, youth ministry, and innovation in existing congregations.
- Neighbors In Need – provides support to ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States.
- The Christmas Fund – provides direct financial assistance to the healers in all our lives: retired and active UCC ministers, church workers, and their families.
